Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist · Medical Director

Dr Behrouz Nabavi

MD, MSc, FRCPsych, Section 12(2) approved. GMC 5174196. Thirty-four years of clinical experience in the NHS and in independent practice, and the person who assesses every patient at this clinic before any treatment is offered.

His approach

The right treatment for the right person

Dr Nabavi specialises in general adult psychiatry, with particular expertise in depression, bipolar disorder, OCD and PTSD, alongside an advanced interest in psychopharmacology and in neuromodulation treatments such as Deep TMS and TPS.

I want people to feel that we are genuinely person-centred, that we consider their needs individually. My aim is to make sure I am giving the right treatment to the right people.

That shapes how this clinic works. Assessment comes before treatment rather than after it, the assessment fee is credited against treatment so the first step is not a commitment, and if a treatment is not right for someone he says so. A clinic that says no when something is not right is more use than one that books everybody in.

Still teaching, still publishing

Dr Nabavi is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Aston Medical School and continues to publish in affective disorders and neuromodulation. In 2014 he won the Royal College of Psychiatrists’ Research Presentation Prize for the West Midlands Division.

That matters to patients more than it might sound. Neuromodulation is a field where the evidence is still moving, and the clinician deciding whether it suits you should be reading it as it arrives rather than working from what was true a decade ago.

Independently verifiable

Do not take our word for it

Anyone can put letters after a name on a web page. All of the above is on the public record, and it is worth knowing how to check it, for this clinic or any other.

The GMC register is free, public and takes about ten seconds. It will confirm that a doctor is registered, licensed to practise, on the specialist register for their field, and whether there are any restrictions on their practice.

If you are considering private psychiatric treatment anywhere, look the clinician up before you pay for anything.

H.M., verified patient

“Meeting Dr Nabavi at the end of 2025 not only saved my life but changed the trajectory of my 10+ year battle with mental illness. Dr Nabavi was one of the only Doctors to have ever understood the complexities of having multiple diagnoses, mixed with neurodiversity, all the while constantly treating me with the upmost respect, empathy and care…most importantly like a real person with valid thoughts and feelings. He supported me at a crucial time in my recovery and I will forever be grateful.”

Seeing him

An hour, and £400

If you go on to have Deep TMS or TPS here, that £400 is credited against the cost of your treatment.

Before the appointment there is a short phone call, free of charge, to work out whether an assessment is likely to be worth your time. You do not need a referral from your GP, and you are welcome to bring someone with you.

You will leave with a written recommendation and, with your permission, a letter to whoever prescribes for you.

Common questions

Almost always. Dr Nabavi usually carries out the initial assessment and screening for Deep TMS, and the assessment of suitability for TPS, himself.

No. You can contact the clinic yourself. We will usually ask to keep your GP informed, and if you were referred by a psychiatrist or therapist you stay under their care.

General adult psychiatry, with particular expertise in depression, bipolar disorder, OCD and PTSD, plus psychopharmacology and neuromodulation.

Yes. An assessment with Dr Nabavi can be carried out online as well as at the clinic. If Deep TMS or TPS follows, the treatment itself takes place at the clinic, and CBT for insomnia can be online too.

Thirty-four years, across the NHS and independent practice, and he holds a CCT in General Adult Psychiatry with a sub-specialty in Liaison Psychiatry.
